VCS Snapshot V2.0
what would happen if I tried to back up more terabytes than I'm licenced for? i.e. If I tried to back up say 2TB but only had the 1.6TB license - would the backup abort?

Re: VCS Snapshot V2.0
The unit will erase your data then burst into flames and burn to a lump of molten metal if you attempt to circumvent your license.
Just kidding...
The license is based on the capacity of the array, not the capacity of the snapshots you create with it. You can create 100 different vsnaps of the 1.6TB for all we care.
So you only need to upgrade the license if you add more drives (ie: more capacity) to the array itself.
Is it enforced by the firmware? (ie: will snapshot stop working if you add capacity and not upgrade the license?) I have no idea.
Good luck,
Vince
