Re: 3par 8440 controller replacement
when i have replaced a controller i have made sure the serial number is 0, the node id is the correct id and the os ssd is blank.
then run node replacement in the cli.
im not 100% thats the official way though.

Re: 3par 8440 controller replacement
Hello @yassir1006,
Is that a used node by any chance? Is the replacing node exactly 8440's (not 82/8400's)?
In this discussion chain, you may find the last 3 posts (mine and Luke's) helpful in this scenario: https://community.hpe.com/t5/hpe-3par-storeserv-storage/3par-7200-interface-card-0-failed-interface-card-firmware/m-p/7142392#M6843

Re: 3par 8440 controller replacement
Hello @yassir1006,
Could you make out what is the reason the node is not joining the cluster?
To proceed with 'whack', you must fix the SP first. You can download the new vSP image and try to redeploy it. I have provided the details to download SP image in this discussion chain that you may find useful - https://community.hpe.com/t5/hpe-3par-storeserv-storage/download-virtual-service-processor/td-p/7172525#.Y9u7vXZByUk

Re: 3par 8440 controller replacement
Hello @yassir1006,
Did you find it in HPE official download website? I don't think that is the right SP image.

SolutionHello @yassir1006,
SP version 5.0.4.0-25509 must be the version of SP OS while when it was shipped. If you haven't upgraded the 3PAR OS or SP OS later, it would remain same. If you had ever upgraded 3PAR OS, the compatible SP version will also change.
So, can you please confirm if the SP OS v5.0.4 works for you? Or let me know the current 3PAR OS version, I will refer the compatibility matrix and help you with the right version of SP.
Regards,
Srinivas Bhat

Re: 3par 8440 controller replacement
Hello @yassir1006
As shown in the image below, in the SP download page, go to the 'My Downloads' tab instead of 'softwares' tab. You will see the versions of SP that you have downloaded before (if you have ever downloaded in the past).
Otherwise, please share your email id with me via private message. I will try to make an alternate arrangement for download.

Srinivas Bhat

Re: 3par 8440 controller replacement
HPE engineer, after I finished replacing the controller, the new controller worked but the disk in the controller display was unknown, do you have any solution that can help me solve this problem?

Re: 3par 8440 controller replacement
That M.2 SSD doesnt look like a 3PAR SSD which are SED and 128GB
That M.2 is HP branded but not SED by the look of it.
As far as i know there are only two M.2 SSd's that go into a controller and thats not one of them,.
