3PAR Firmware

Hello all,

I am searching for the latest firmware versions for our 3PAR SAN storage.  Unfortunately it was not brought up to date before the 3PAR went end of life, and now we are up against a wall in compatibility with VMWare 6.7 and the deprecation of Flash in browsers.

Any resources to get the firmware now (since HP no longer will provide it) would be a godsend.

Thanks,

RS

Re: 3PAR Firmware

Hello,

What is the 3PAR model? What is the current version of 3PAR OS? (Please share 'showsys' and 'showversion' command outputs)

What is the version of 3PAR OS you are looking for?

Regards,

Srinivas Bhat

Re: 3PAR Firmware

Hi

download of 3PAR patches is from https://myenterpriselicense.hpe.com

but with out a valid contract you can not download.

you must get it through HPE or stay at your current version.

you are at  a very old version must update to at least 3.2.2 MU6

Re: 3PAR Firmware

Our 3PAR is end of life, so there is no contract available for it, therefore I cannot download the updates through HPE; this was the whole purpose of the post, is to try to find these files available elsewhere, maybe from someone who already has them downloaded.

If HP won't provide a solution to their product once it is end of life, we are forced to find it elsewhere.

Re: 3PAR Firmware

Version 3.2.1.MU2 is from year 2014.

Please don't tell there was not enough time to get it upgraded, espicially since this was a free service of HPE for systems with contract.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: 3PAR Firmware

I have been with the company for a little over a year now, and unfortunately this is the result of poor decicion making from previous management.

I have spent a lot of time cleaning up messes like this on a lot of other platforms for this group, but so far this is the only one that we no longer readily have access to the software necessary.

Re: 3PAR Firmware

Any device in production should have a support contract.

In case of system down without support it could be much more expensive.

The only legal way to get the software is a support contract for it.

Hope this helps!

Re: 3PAR Firmware

I'm well aware of best practices and the "right" way to do it, but those options have been closed to us.  The device itself is end of life, and our support vendor no longer has access (or is willing to) do anything with it because it is end of life.

There is no budget for a new SAN right now.

2 + 2 + 2 = me having to come here and hope I can get ahold of the firmware.

Re: 3PAR Firmware

Get and use software from a not legal source could be even more expensive!

You won't get it here.

Hope this helps!
