Re: 3PAR

Questions:

1. Type of the array that you are trying to add. Do you know the Infrom OS version ?

2. What do you mean with "3PAR administrative console"

Service-Processor (SP) ?

SSMC ?

or IMC  ?

What is the IP-address of the SSMC? Does it belong to the same network ?

Please provide answers to ALL questions.

Re: 3PAR

You wrote that the SSMC has the ip-address "10.1.10.25"

You also wrote that the array you were trying to connect has exactly the same IP-address:

"Failed to add system 10.1.10.25, I/O error: connect timed out."

Are you mixing up the IPs? Can you check ?

SSMC 3.3.1 is the old windows based solution, which may not support the very latest 3PAR-OS version.

You did not tell which 3PAR-OS version you have (cli command is "showversion")

Re: 3PAR

Can you please first confirm that you are currently running SSMC on a Windows system?

Or is SSMC runnin as an appliance on a VMware/HyperV host ?

Note, SSMC with version 3..4 has changed from a windows-service version to a VMware/HyperV appliance version.

You must have an VMware/Hyper-V setup to run this. There is no update for SSMC on winows since 2014. It is out of support and i would not be suprised if it can┬┤t connect to a 3PAR system running 3.3.1.

The iso that you have (HPE_SSMC_3.8.4_QR482-11646.iso) is an upgrade version that will allow you to upgrade any version >=3.6 to 3.8.4.

For a new install you need to find the 3.8.0 version and then upgrade to 3.8.4.

Hope that helps

Re: 3PAR

Hi,

Please find below answer as required.

SSMC runnin as an appliance on a VMware/HyperV host ?

Name 3PARSP01
Model VMware Virtual Platform
SP date/time Nov 15, 2023 2:25:32 PM GST
Version Current 5.1.1.0-29341
IP address 10.1.7.58

Re: 3PAR

"SP date/time Nov 15, 2023 2:25:32 PM GST
Version Current 5.1.1.0-29341"

This is the SP (service processor) and not SSMC (StoreServ-Management-Console).

Since your SP is running as an appliance, you obviously have a VMware setup to host this.

If you are unsure about wether your SSMC is running as an appliance or is a windows service, check in the main SSMC window the version that is printed in the right-buttom corner. Everything smaller or equal 3.3.1 is the windows based service.

This is another management console type called IMC, which is also out of support.
