Hi there,
I´m trying to log to a 3PAR 8200 through the SSMC. It seems the password is not working, I tried 3pardata without success. Is there any way to reset or enter the SSMC ? I know it would be possible through the Command CLI but we don´t have the Serial adapter with the Storage !
Thanks for your help !

Re: 3paradm login and password / 3PAR 8200
Hello @Early
The character length in the password looks longer than '3pardata'. If not changed, please re-try the default password carefully again.

Re: 3paradm login and password / 3PAR 8200
And the tool you are trying to login looks like IMC, not SSMC. Please check if you are logging into the right console of your 3PAR.

SolutionHello @Early,
What is the 3PAR OS version and when was the last time you could login successfully?
This is the older console 'IMC'. Are you sure you want to connect this console or the newer console SSMC?

Re: 3paradm login and password / 3PAR 8200
the 3PAR OS is Version 3.2.2.612. I´m the new Admin here at work and never got access to the Storage until now. So if you tell me it´s better to use the new SSMC I can now download it and install it but I guess I would get the same log in Problem or ?

Re: 3paradm login and password / 3PAR 8200
Hello @Early,
The IMC is very old console. I think it is no more supported by HPE.
SSMC will be much better in terms of usability, compatibility with v3.2.2 and availability of features. Please try to download and install SSMC. Let me know if you need any assistance.

Re: 3paradm login and password / 3PAR 8200
So.. I need only to "reset" the Storage, We have no data to save or something...
I still can´t access through SSMC maybe due to a "degraded" satus of the Nodes... BUT i got acces through SSH and I´m now with the command Promt InServ cli% .
Which command could I use to to get everything in a "normal" mode ?
Thanks a lot

Re: 3paradm login and password / 3PAR 8200
Hello @Early,
Select the system you want to connect.
Go to the Actions menu and select ‘Connect’.
Click on ‘Connect’ to confirm.
It will take a few seconds to process and you will see the connection state as ‘Connected’.

Srinivas Bhat

Re: 3paradm login and password / 3PAR 8200
Hello @Early,
If you don't have to save any existing data on your 3PAR and reset the system, you can just delete all the volumes and delete the CPGs as well. (It is always scary for me to say delete all the volumes, but it is purely your call if you really want to delete them all. Double check and be sure before deleting them. You can't recover data if you feel you wanted them later). Then you can run the command 'tunesys' to tune the system afresh.6
Once you connect the system, I think you will be able to access the system. After connecting, let me know if you still have any errors like 'degraded nodes' or something. Post the error details as well.
Regarding your query on how to bring the system to 'normal', please let me know the node error details. I need to know why the nodes are degraded.
Regards,
Srinivas Bhat

Re: 3paradm login and password / 3PAR 8200
If the issue is 'still trying to login', take the GUIs out of the picture.
You can log in via SSH to the array's IP which also uses the 3paradm username and associated password. If you can't get the basic login, you have a much more fundamental problem. Which will very likely need HPE 3PAR Support to help fix.
