AO rules, Spaces in SSD and FC disk porcent

hi Guys,

 i hope that all are wel

 i need your help in the followin topic

 

 i have a Storage 3PAR with a AO rules, this rules move data in hot from Disk FC to SSD, but may question now is:  I can know if the total space that i have in SSD is enough for the all data that this rule are moving from FC to SSD disk?

Hello @francisco82,

AO doesn't have any specific requirement about the amount of SSD space availability. AO algorithm considers the below parameters before moving data from one tier to the other:
1. Amount of free space available in the target tier
2. Frequency of data read/write. Higher the data being accessed, hotter the data will be classified by AO.

If more free space is available in the SSD tier, AO tends to move more data the tier. If there is very less space in SSD, AO will not move any further data to the tier. So, the AO adjusts to the availability of free space in each of the tiers.
