CPG
Hello All,
I am new to HP3PAR and i jiust want to know what is CPG, it's function and benefits and why it is need to configure.

Hi Dav3,
When a physical disk is inserted into HPE 3PAR StoreServ Storage, it will be divided into 1GiB blocks called Chunklets.
A group of Chunklets forms Logical disks and a group of logical disks will form a CPG.
Common provisioning groups (CPGs) are user-defined pools of storage space. When a common provisioning group is created, its properties, such as RAID type and physical drive device type, are specified. HPE Storage operating systems automatically create the underlying logical drives for the common provisioning group that has those properties. While you create a virtual volume, you will need to assign a CPG so that it will draw the specified space from it.
