Difference between how the same volume is viewed in 3PAR v Vmware
Hi guys
I need to understand why there is such a difference in the view of capacity in the below table from the two points of view. I need to be able to explain to my client what is happening here.
Thanks in advance
Volume is Thin Provisioned
Compaction on the CPG is done on a daily basis .
A vSphere UNMAP was carried out on the Datastore very recently.

Re: Difference between how the same volume is viewed in 3PAR v Vmware
Hello @Beer Grill,
Can you please provide more details to explain this?
I would like to take a look at the below command outputs:
showcpg -sdg
showpd -c
showspace -cpg *

Re: Difference between how the same volume is viewed in 3PAR v Vmware
Hello @Beer Grill,
Thanks for the output. But I haven't received the below command outputs as they should have been. Here the * is * only, please don't replace with the CPG name.
showcpg -sdg
showspace -cpg *

Hello @Beer Grill,
What I could derive from the log outputs and numbers on the table of your original post are not matching. May I know how did you arrive at those numbers?
