Finding SP IP of 3par 7200

Hello, 

Long story short, I've recently taken over internal support for my company and before I could get far with the 3par system, we had an incidnet that took down our systems. The VM that help managed the 3par 7200 series was not able to be restored. 

With HPE's support I've gotten a new SSMC up and the 7200 connection estbalished again but they need the SP IP address, which I do not know or have documents on it and support wasn't able to dig it up either. I like some help on finding ways to get the SP IP address. The closest connection I can get to the SP is from the array through a putty session. I'm also wonering if there is a way to connect to the backside of the 3par itself through one of the ethernet ports and run a command on a laptop to maybe get it as well?

I'm still new to the whole 3par setup, so not seeing what can help me in that linked guide?

Hi theKtechex,

If it physical SP, you can login to the physical SP using the console port and get the SP IP.
But, in your case, the SP was deployed on a VM, there may be a chance of loss of SP IP when it is decommissioned and uninstalled VM completely.
Please check with the team who are all involved in this project before you take over this project.

Finally, it is recommended to contact HPE Tech support for further assistance on this issue.

Hi Satish, 

Appeciate the answer, far as I'm aware the old vm was just for the SSMC, the IP should be tied to the big box housing everything in my server room. So if I were to connect a cable to the mgt port, what would I want to run on a command line or something to pull that IP info?
