HPE 3PAR 8400 - disk capacity upgrade
Hi,
i have a customer with an 3PAR 8400 running fw 331MU5+latest patch level with an existing disk configuration of two types of capacity disks namely 1.2TB 10k SFF FC & 480GB SFF SSD disks.
The client intends to grow the existing capacity by adding another set of 1.8TB10k SFF FC & 3.84TB SSF SSD disks. What would be the best way to ensure the newly added disks are added to it's own "new" cpg and not let the disks automatically included in the existing CPG's & capacity tiers once added to the array.

Re: HPE 3PAR 8400 - disk capacity upgrade
It's been a few years since I last '3PAR'ed. That being said, add a disk total capacity filter on all existing and new CPGs.
Look at the -tc_gt and -tc_lt filters. Pick threshold values midway between existing disk size and new disk size.
Existing CPGs, use the -tc_lt filter.
The new CPGs use the -tc_gt filter.
