New Drive using old Caddy(Enclosure) still Failed Status
Hello,
Just want to inquire if someone experience replacing a disk on 3par using the failed drive caddy/enclosure and the status of the new disk is always failed?
So this is what happen actually. We have failed drives in our 3par system,. We bought 2 new disk, pull out the failed one and insert the new disk using the failed drive enclosure/caddy. Now 3par is saying its failed(Invalid Firmware), so we think the 1st new drive got problems and so we pull out it again, insert the second disk using the same caddy/enclosure and still 3par is reading it as failed.

Re: New Drive using old Caddy(Enclosure) still Failed Status
Hello -RAN-,
It is not clear the Inform OS version of the array, Model of the system, Drive model or firmware versions.
However, from your description, it seems the new spare is not supported with the current running OS version or a patch is required for the support.
