HI All,
I was able to perform the Peer Motion of volumes mapped to ESXi hosts, and the attributes of the volumes (name and wwn) remained same as it was on the source storage and in the Vcenter as well.
Now my question is do we have to mandatorily update the wwn of the migrated volumes using the command 'setvv -wwn' which requires the volumes to be unexported first? Or can i leave them as it is? Will it have any impact in the future?
HPE 3PAR Peer Motion and HPE 3PAR Online Import User Guide pg-85 mentions that it is recommended to update the wwn of the volume to that of local-array. Please suggest.

SolutionHi zabbix,
It is not required, but advised by the HPE 3PAR Peer Motion and HPE 3PAR Online Import User Guide, to update the WWN of the migrated volumes when completing a Peer Motion of volumes mapped to ESXi hosts and may not have any impact on your volumes.
To maintain uniformity throughout your storage system and help prevent confusion, update the WWN to match the local array. This facilitates management and troubleshooting.
Hope this helps.!
Regards,
Satish
