32 and 64 bit 11.0

Hi,

Wanted to know about the maximum amount of primary swap and shared memory that one can have in 32 and 64 bit versions of HP-UX 11.0.

Thanks in advance.

Anu

Suggest you repost this in the HP-UX forum.....

Re: 32 and 64 bit 11.0

Primary swap can be limited to 2 Gb depending on the hardware you are using and whether you define the dump area to be the same space as primary swap. It is usually recommended that you have a small (200 meg) to medium (1000 meg) primary swap area and then add as much secondary swap as needed. However, HP-UX does limit maximum swap space to 1 Tb.

Shared memory is limited to 1750 megs in all 32 bit kernels, and 8 Tb in 64 bit kernels.
