cable
I would like to connect an external tape drive(Quantam :DLT 4000) for my L-2000 box.
I need to purchase the right cable for this. If anybody knows the exact part number for this cable and a terminator would be realy helpful.
I'm trying to run make_net_recovery using this external tape drive. Per doc, L class servers are supported with the external drive.
Any thoughts on creating bootable tapes would be highly appriciated..

Re: cable
Before answering that, we need a few details. Almost certainly, your DLT4000 has a FWD interface which is HVD SCSI. Unless you have purchased FWD SCSI controllers (A4800A or A5159A - Dual Port) FWD HVD controllers then you can't directly connect the drive because your L-box only has LVD SCSI.
Tell us a bit more and we can help.
Regards, Clay

Re: cable
It is possible that yours is SE SCSI as well and you'd need to verify that your D box has a SE SCSI interface.
The cable is not as important as making sure your SCSI types are compatible between the peripheral and the controller.
