Cannot Execute PDC
Hi,
i am runnung An A400 with hpux 11.00. Each time i reboot my machine I get the following Error:
"Cannot execute PDC"
Check logs for errors.
After that the hardware is checked ( is see some checksums) and the machine is rebooting without problems. I can't find any errors in the GSP error logs.
I think a firmware patch is missing.
Has anybody an idea?
Thanks in advwance
Peter

Re: Cannot Execute PDC
I had faced same problem few days earlier. And this only after I changed fastboot to on. (This skips some memory tests)
I changed it back to OFF and this error message went away.
Check this.
But I doubt this is the reason for the error message you have mentioned.
Also check the firmware.

All A400/A500 Server Front Panel LED states:
Match the following LED combinations with the system front panel LEDs to determine the state of the server and appropriate action to take.
Run - Off
Attn - Off
Fault - Off
State:
A) If Power LED Off -- Check AC power at source
B) If Power LED Flashing -- Turn Back Panel Power Switch on - LED should be on solid
C) If Power LED On -- Cannot execute PDC
Looks like a power issue.

Re: Cannot Execute PDC
Hi, Peter.
I think that you have a faulty CPU. The checks you see after the message "Cannot execute PDC" seem to be part of a High Priority Machine Check (HPMC) caused by a CPU that cannot run the PDC code to join the machine.
After that, the CPU shold be deconfigured and you'd be able to boot. But every time you reboot, the system should try to reconfigure that CPU back, then reproducing the error.
Best regards.
Xavier.
