Compatibility of Compaq TFT 1701 monitor?

I am using a TFT 1701 monitor with a new Dell 4600 system running XP professional. I am continually getting a 0x7f error, which according to MS site says, among other things, could be related to hw and/or drivers. Is is possible this monitor and drivers are not compatible with Windows XP? The pc came installed with a NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 display adapter. I am using the driver obtained from the web site, but am wondering if this may be the cause of my problem.

check if have the Compaq TFT 1701 drivers installed.
