FLT 707D

Our H60 HP-UX system has 10.20 OS on it. It locked up so we rebooted it and now it displays FLT 707D on the monitor console. So went ahead and purchased another memory board and still have the same issue. The memory cards are 32MB and put in the proper slots in pairs. Attached is a picture of the screen.

All 7xxx faults are always memory related.

IIRC 707D is "no memory found"; so either the modules are completely dead or the memory controller (system board) is damaged.

I don't know much about these systems at all. How would the (system board) get damaged? Is it possible if by just shutting down the system by pushing the power button could have damaged the memory modules or the controller?

Hardware can break - consider this as normal. Your server must be more than 10 years old now.

Normally you should never shutdown a system like this by pushing the button only, because it will do a reboot and halt, not a proper shutdown.

Anyway, you may try different memory modules if you have, but probably other hardware (systemboard or memory extender) has gone bad.

It turned out the cause for the FLT 707D error was bent pins on the system board that accepts the memory card. Thanks for everyones help.
