fresh install on uninitialized rp3410

i am trying to set up an rp3410 that has nothing on it. i can connect to the MP from the console serial port, but i am unable to get to a screen to interrupt the boot process to tell the system to boot from cd. from MP, console log is always empty. below is what is shown in SEL.

Thanks for your help!

Re: fresh install on uninitialized rp3410

Did you try to go to the console?

MP> co

Once the selftest are done, you will get into the BCH menu.

Hope this helps!

Re: fresh install on uninitialized rp3410

It takes several minutes, depending on he amount of MEM to check.

You can watch the status via

MP> vfp

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: fresh install on uninitialized rp3410

I would do this:

reset the system and watch te live logs

MP:CM> rs
MP:CM> ma
MP> sl
select "L"

press "t" for text format

You can also have a look into the system logs for errors.

MP> sl
select "E"
press "t"

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Thank you. i will try that next. i left the server sitting at the vfp screen above while i went to lunch and meetings. now the screen shows this and there are no additional log entries.

TIA

System state Activity # of logs since boot
--------------- -------- --------------------
OS Panic 28

E indicates error since last boot

LEDs | LOCATOR | SYSTEM | POWER
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
| OFF | OFF | ON GREEN

Re: fresh install on uninitialized rp3410

OK, The text mode live log has definitely been more helpful. below is what i got from it. I remember seeing something about this error when I was searching other install docs. Now i have something i can search for.

If you have any other info on this i would appreciate it. I'll submit points for you today.

Cheers!

Re: fresh install on uninitialized rp3410

Torsten -

Thanks for all your help!

after doing some research on that error, i started pulling everything off of the main board. found out that the power supply was not plugged securely to the proc.
