GSP lan question
I cannot connect to the GSP in my L2000 (HPUX 11.00) server.
I used the lc command to view and modify the network parameters. However, once I changed the gateway address I cannot connect to the GSP anymore.
I'm sure all the network parametes i've entered are well configured.
My question is how to connect the GSP.. ?
Many thanks,
Aviad

Re: GSP lan question
Does your CTRL+B from Console working ?
#telnet
through Browser (not SWC but simple LAN console) like -- http://
checklist--
1.Have u done ' EL ' -enable/disable LAN access
2. the ' SO ' option in GSP for Security Options settings
3.Are you trying from the same network, subnet and communication passing through same Gateway(Networking part)
4. the XD option from GSP prompt
GSP> xd
XD
Non destructive tests :
1. Parameters checksum
2. I2C access (get Power Monitor status)
3. LAN access (PING)
4. Modem selftests
Type R to reset the GSP or Q to quit the diagnostic menu.
-> Choice: 3
Asks for IP address
Have you checked the IP address for which you are trying to access ???
Thanks,

Re: GSP lan question
Look at the back of the server where you connected the LAN cable. Note where it says LAN CONSOLE. Does 10 Base T also appear?

Re: GSP lan question
What did you change the IP of the gateway to?
It needs to be the IP of the GSP lan port itself - not a router.

Re: GSP lan question
how to reset a GSP in a L2000 ?
a) Online Procedures:
1.) at Console: CTRL-B, login (enter two times should work at local console), enter "xd" and press r
2.) if login is not possible anymore, login as root to the system and enter:
stty +resetGSP 3.) if this does not work, there is a reset button, on the SIDE of the GSP PCI card, but to access it, you have to access the PCI card IN the computer. Although it is possible (and supported) to do this online, you should check if the cables are long enough to slide out the server from the rack. refer to:
http://docs.hp.com/cgi-bin/onlinedocs.py?mpn=A5191-96018&service=hpux&path=00/00/45&title=rp5400%20User%20Guide
b)Offline only:
4.) If nothing helps, shut down the server and disconnect all power cables for at least 15 seconds
