How do GSP Log Entries Get DELETED?

Our ATTN light turned on our HP9000 L1000-36 last week and I used the "SL" command, within GSP,to view all the log entries and turn off the light. But when I got back in today, I see new entries in the log files, but they also still have old entries in them! Why weren't the old ones' deleted and if not, how are removed?

Re: How do GSP Log Entries Get DELETED?

On newer systems, there is an option to delete all logs:

GSP> SL
Chassis Logs available:
(A)ctivity Log
(E)rror Log
(L)ive Chassis Logs
(C)lear All Chassis Logs
(Q)uit

On older systems, this is just a FIFO.
The timestamp will tell you if the entry is new or old.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

hi jim,

on older systems you cannot delete the logs, they will just be overwritten in time.

the gsp can store 100 or so logs before it starts overwriting though
