HP 9000 C110 boot problem
I have a HP 9000 C110 workstation that refuses to boot. It was originally sent to us to troubleshoot a problem with the monitor not displaying anything. At that time a console hooked up to the serial port would work fine.
The first thing I tried was to set console path to graphics3 - did not work.
Then I set fastboot=off to see if there were any error messages. Rebooted came up fine.
I then reset the BIOS to factory defaults - and after that the machine does not boot.
1. Nothing on the graphics card - nothing on the serial console.
2. On power-up LEDs 1,2,3 on the front panel light up and after sometime only LED 3 stays lit.
I have tried removing the battery on the motherboard, reseating the RAM, reseating/removing the graphics card. Nothing works.
Any suggesstions/tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
-Satish

Re: HP 9000 C110 boot problem
Hello -
If you disconnect the keyboard and mouse, the system should revert to the "alternate console", being the serial console. Does this work? If so, you should be able to setup the framebuffer to the appropriate resolution/etc. You'll probably also need to reset all of your paths (Primary/Alternate Boot, Console, etc).

I have tried that. As I said in
my previous e-mail - nothing
shows up on either the serial
console or the graphics card.
(I have tried disconnecting
the keyboard and mouse.)
Thanks,
