SolutionThe answer is that it depends. Some are rated from 100-240VAC; if they are UN-SWITCHED, you can use them but there are,of course, differences in the input power cord between all 120VAC and 240VAC models.
If it were me, I would order the 120V model PDU's as a field replacement and install them when your cabinets arrive. That way you have a fully supported configuration. After all, the price of PDU's is quite small in the scheme of things and the customer did request it.
The other big question is : What about your UPS's?

Re: HP9000 Rack PDU's
THe amp's will double, going from 220 to 110. So it really depends upon what you are going to place in the rack.

Re: HP9000 Rack PDU's
Also, people are very ignorant when it comes to electrical demands, especially those that think they know something. I argue with my pc people all the time, as they think their rack mounted servers only run on 110 and they think that to run on 208 they would need to replace their power supplies, when in fact they really only need to replace their PDU's. See, they don't know the differentce between a power supply and a PDU.

Re: HP9000 Rack PDU's
Looking in the Computer Cabinet User's Manual for C2785A and C2786A.
I would have to say no, changing the plug will not work.
On pages 5-4 and 5-5 it shows the schematic for the 100-120 VAC and 200-240 VAC PDU's.
The PDU's use a 25 Apm relay to connect the power over the outlets in these PDU's.
(100-120 = E4450A & E4454A with Plug MEMA 5-20P)
(200-240 = E4452A & E4456A with Plug MEMA L6-20P)
(200-240 = E4453A & E4456A with no Plug)
The PDU's listed here use a front panel switch to turn the PDU's on and off.
More information on the exact PDU you are useing might be helpful.
