Ignite ux - how to change lan interface

Hi,

When I issue command boot lan install , the new system uses lan0 interface to talk to ignite server or network. Is there any way to tell at PDC prompt use another interface say lan1 instead of lan0?

Thanks.

Re: Ignite ux - how to change lan interface

I have not tried it but if you tell PDC the hardware path of the NIC you want to use it may work.

bo 1/2/1.2.0

Might just do the trick.
If it has wheels or a skirt, you can't afford it.

Re: Ignite ux - how to change lan interface

try doing help boot on the console

Usualy if the node supports it you do :
bo lan. install

Re: Ignite ux - how to change lan interface

Hello,

you can only use the build in lan (lan0 10/100).

See release notes Ignite
http://www.software.hp.com/products/IUX/docs/release_note_B.3.6.html

See Point 4.3 :

4.3 Networking Issues
======================

* Ignite-UX HP network interface support matrix.

The only interfaces supported for doing a network boot from a
server are the built-in ethernet (10-Base-T, and 100-Base-T)
on all newers systems. The T, V, H, G, I, E class and
9000/8*7S systems do not support network boot. Other network
interfaces interfaces that are supported (see table below) can
only be used when the system is booted using the "bootsys"
command, or booted from an Ignite-UX tape or CD-ROM (see
bootsys(1m) and make_boot_tape(1M)).

Re: Ignite ux - how to change lan interface

Hi,

you can only use the lan port on the core io to boot through the network.

Hope this helps.
