Memory upgrade
A reseller will upgrade my D380 and R380 with 2 * 512MB (i.e. 2 * 2 SIMMS of 512MB).
Are there compatibility issues with the SIMMS already installed, e.g. timing problems?
I know about the order the banks must be filled, but I wonder if one can use A3717A (512MB) together with A3408A (128MB).

Re: Memory upgrade
Sure, no problem. I've had lots of systems with mixed memory SIMMS. Just make sure you install them in the right sequence.

Re: Memory upgrade
As long as your higher density SIMMS are first, as you already know, things are good. Just make sure that the pairs are in matching slots...
The only thing I would wonder is if the upgrade is cost effective or not, but it depends on your situation...
Hope it helps

Re: Memory upgrade
In the case of the D380:
Those two SIMMS together?
Not a problem
In the case of the R380:
Those are the "wrong" part #'s,
but that means nothing
I can't remember for sure, but the R & D might be the same box
Someone else will be along in a minute !!

Re: Memory upgrade
Yup - same memory on R & D-Class
[despite part #'s]
Thus - you have no problems
