R and D class memory

Does anybody know for sure if D Class memory can be moved into an R Class server? It looks like it should be the same to me. Thanks!!!

Re: R and D class memory

Yes.

A good way to check (if you don't have HP Configuration Guides) is to check, www.kingston.com. They have HP Part numbers to reference.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: R and D class memory

I am 99.9% sure that it can. A R-class system is basiclly just a rackmounted D-class.

One of my D's had to have the system board replaced and the new board is identifying it as an R now and all memory and peripherals from the D are working OK.

ANother good place to check is from partsurfer. I too am sure that they are compatible.

100% sure. Memory part numbers for D-class and R-class are the same

Re: R and D class memory

That is correct. The memory for D class and R class are EXACTLY the same.

Re: R and D class memory

You can even move some K memory to a D. The A3737A will work in the later model D's and therefore an R.
