Hi All
We are having problems installing a Remote Management Console onto an existing rx2620. When the RMC is plugged in, the server gets to where it is about to load the kernel and hangs.
I think the problem is due to the redirection of the console.
However does a procedure for retrofitting exist?
Worst case scenario will be to reboot with an ignite tape and re-install
Regards
Andrew Y

Re: Retrofitting RMC on an rx2620
Dear Andrew:
Can you clarify what type of remote console configuration you're attempting? Is this to a modem for dialing in or via the web console?

Solution
You probably have the console setup incorrectly. From the boot manager goto Boot Management and select console devices. All three (in, out, err) should be setup to use the new MP card console port. You can verify this by plugging into the on-board serial port to see if you get your prompt.
If the rx2620 is the same as the rx2600, the EFI path you want for your console will contain both 'PCI' and 'UART' in order to use the MP console port.
