SCSI terminator on D210

I am visiting an HP9000 user in Germany. He has a D210 with 2 internal discs, a DDS2 dat drive and a CD. He has no external devices attached.
The machine appears to be running normally, but I was surprised to find that it does not have a SCSI terminator plugged into the "SCSI Single Ended (8/)16/5" socket on the back.
Is this normal?

Re: SCSI terminator on D210

That is SCSI: it may work without proper termination, but there is no guarantee
You better put a terminator on the connector. It has to be there!

Thanks for your quick response. I will try and buy one!

Re: SCSI terminator on D210

Verify with the user/sys-admin at the site, that the internal drive on the end of the chain wasn't hardware terminated. I found a couple on an army contract that were configured with the drive termination on. It made for some real headaches until we found that out.

Oops, sorry the above from JMJ was my post. I was doing some updates in our general user ID and his name is associated.

Re: SCSI terminator on D210

Hi James,

If you really wanna to avoid future headeck, please plug a terminator.

In some cases, while booting, the FC process could reach a 30 minutes time booting and break with a timeout!!!

Prehaps your friend prefer to avoid that !
