Relating to the Superdome,
the tpc results are/were only based on 48cpus
not the max 64 possible.. I'm wondering if
HPUX has the guts to move up to a single os
with a "single threaded ?" kernel cpu
scheduler process.
Can anyone tell me if 11i would have done
better with 64 cpus or does it have a problem
going more than say 48.
I heard rumours on 11, well itrc fact, that a v2500 performed poorer after upgrading number of cpus at vodaphone. Is there a problem with no of cpus and hpux. I need to know pretty quick since I'm considering an installation recommendation of a 64way superdome single partition.
I'm aware of the SPOFs but'd like to know will perf increase or decrease????? AND: are there
any other gotchas about a single partition
superdome configuration, such as non resueableness!
Points mean prizes!

Re: SuperDome Recommendation: 64way with 11i or not?
I think the best avenue for you to get unbiased information about how well (or unwell?) 11i scales to 64 processors on the Superdome is to speak directly with Oracle. They've always provided me with good information on how their products will function on the hardware that we have or are thinking of obtaining.
Remember, wherever you go, there you are...
