Hello....
System: rp2470(A500-6x)
GSP(GSP HE command):
Hardware Revision A0 Firmware Revision C0.02.02
GSP(printed on the board):
REV A2
PCB A6889-80002
PCA A6889-60002
I tried to find latest GSP f/w and the only GSP f/w is for GSP revision B C.02.15
Can I update my rp2470 server with this file?
And how can I determine my GSP is whether revsion A or revsion B?
Thans...

Solution
Looks like the file is correct for your rp2470.
One way to determine the GSP version is to examine the color of your "W" cable (the short cable that has one 25-pin connector to the GSP and three 9-pin connectors for serial cables). The revision A GSP uses a grey cable, while the revision B GSP's cable is black.
Another way is to look at the letter at the beginning of the firmware version number: the "revision A" GSPs had an A.nn.nn style version numbers, "revision B" for rp54xx and rp7400 servers had B.nn.nn style numbers and the "slightly modified revision B" GSPs for rp24xx series had a C.nn.nn style firmware version number.
You seem to have a *very* old GSP firmware.
The release note of the C.02.15 firmware says:
1. CAUTION: If the currently installed firmware is older than C.02.10 then updating to GSP firmware revision C.02.15 requires updating to C.02.10 first. C.02.10 is located at the following URL:
ftp://us-ffs.external.hp.com/superseded_patches/firmware_patches/hp/cpu/PF_CHARGSPC0210.tar.gz
Read the release notes: they contain a detailed description of the installation procedure. Also ensure that you have installed the OS patches listed in the release notes before updating the firmware.

Re: Updating GSP firmware...rp2470
This is from docs.hp.com:
The revision A GSP is identified by product number A6696A and part numbers: A5191-60012, A5191-69012, and A5191-69112.
The revision A GSP requires a "W" cable to be attached to the DB25 connector. The part number of the "W" is A5191-63001. The "W" cable provides female DB9 connectors for CONSOLE, REMOTE and UPS. The maximum supported baud rate for the CONSOLE and REMOTE connectors is 19200 baud and 1200 baud for the UPS.
The paths for the CONSOLE, UPS, and REMOTE are 0/0/4/0.0, 0/0/4/0.1, and 0/0/4/0.2 respectively.
For the rev A GSP, the web console is accomplished by shipping one J3591A Secure Web Console with each rp54xx server. The Secure Web Console can be used in place of an ASCII console to provide console access via a web connection. If you are installing an rp54xx server that does not have an ASCII console, you may use the Secure Web Console as the console. However, you must first configure the Secure Web Console. Refer to ├в Secure Web Console Installation├в for more information on SWC Installation/Configuration.
*******
The revision B GSP is identified by product number A6696B and part numbers: A6144-60012, A6144-69012, and A6144-69112.
The revision B GSP requires an "M" cable to be attached to the DB25 connector. The part number of the "M" cable is A6144-63001. The "M" cable provides female DB9 connectors for CONSOLE, REMOTE, and UPS. The maximum supported baud rate for the CONSOLE and REMOTE connectors is 38400 baud and 1200 baud for the UPS.
The paths for the CONSOLE, UPS, and REMOTE are 0/0/4/1.0, 0/0/4/1.1 and 0/0/4/1.2 respectively
