Web Console and Support Console IP Address

If I do not know the IP address of either the web console or the support card in the server, how do I access them?

Hi,
We may to know a little more, is your L2000 already configured and connected to a network?
In which case you know already the ntework address...
For the web console, the same, with a difference: you can reset the web console, in this case all data configuration will be lost and you will have to start again, the preconfigured address is 192.0.0.192...

The server does have "A" installation of 11.0, but not the one I plan to use. And yes it is connected to the network. I was able to reset the web console and gain access to the server. Thanks. The Support Processor (GSP Card) is what puzzles me now. I did figure out I can access the support processor when the server is off from the web console using CTRL+B. Unfortunately, I don't know what the password is. I know about the reset button on the card, but that does me no good because I don't know the default username and password. Since the server is installed with HP-UX 11.0 I do know the IP address of the LAN interface, but not the GSP Card. I realize this might be a simple problem, but I can't find any documentation about it that answers these questions on HP's site. Basically, what to I need to do so that I can access the GSP Card over the network?

Hi again,
I dont know if it will be of much help, because I havent configured a lan console yet, but I have some boxes with a few lan cards,so I woulnd be surprised to see the IP addresses of the lanconsole in the /etc/rc.config.d/netconf file as lanX..., have you looked there?

By default your web console will have an IP address of 192.0.0.192. You need to connect to it via a browser on that same subnet (use a cross cable with your PC if necessary) to configure it and give it a real IP address.

The LAN port on your GSP is unconfigured. To configure it you need to go into the GSP and run 'LC'. Your GSP will ask you for a login and password but you can press Enter both times and you'll get in anyway. The GSP has a good help system (HE to start). Browse through it a bit.

Brad: The Web Console cane be reset by holding down the front panel button while turning the unit on.

Mark: You need to connect to it via a browser on that same subnet (use a cross cable with your PC if necessary) to configure it and give it a real IP address.

Brad: You can also type 'route add 192.0.0.192 ' from a windows computer to access the console.

Brad: The simplest way I found to access the GSP card before it is configured is to press CTRL+B from the web console while the server is off.
