2920-48G Stacking 3 switches must one be in standby?

So I've got 3 2920's that are setup in a stack - currently chained (I have extra stacking cables, mine as well do ring I guess).

My question is this.  i did this config so I could add one more 2920 later and keep the unit easily managable (thus stacking) but the 2nd member won't come out of standby.  Is this required?

Is it too much to ask for a stack with 3 switches of which, I can use all three?!

Thanks much!

Re: 2920-48G Stacking 3 switches must one be in standby?

I think I'm an idiot... Standby doesn't mean the switch is not usable - It just means the switch is the standby incase the commander goes down... My first time with stacking this way - I'm used to old school LACP to chain switches.
