4108GL and PVLANs
I'm looking at starting to use PVLANS to isolate clients because using tranditional VLANS is kind of a pain. So my setup would have each client in "isolated" mode and have servers that they must talk to (Domain Controllers, Citrix servers, etc) in the promiscuious mode.
I am using Hyper-V 2012 and I got this to work until I move it to another host. I think this is because I'm not doing anything with PVLANS on my c7000 enclosure nor my 4108GL switch.
So here is my network:
- Core switch (HP 4108GL)
- c7000 Enclosure with two HP GBE2c ethernet modules in them
- I have three trunks. One from 4108GL to one module, another from 4108GL to the other module, and the modules have a trunk that interconnects them internally on port 17&18
I do see something about private vlan "tagging" on the HP GBE2c but there is nothign about private vlans on the 4108GL.
Is there a way I can make this work or will I have to switch everything out with cisco equipment?

Re: 4108GL and PVLANs
Your other option is to switch out to HP gear that isn't 15 years old.
