Ask - Disable Enable Port on 2510G - 24
Hi,
need info. do I need restart the switch, everytime I set certain port to be disabled / enabled, so the change take effect?
I don't see "Save button" on their web configuration. So I assume every change may take effect instantly.
my case is, I set some port to be disabled by default. I only make it enable whenever user need to use that port. But everytime I change setting the port, from disable to enable, the change not take effect.
am I miss something?
thanks in advance

What makes you think the change isn't taking effect?
Are you viewing the physical switch and seeing no LED lighting up?

Re: Ask - Disable Enable Port on 2510G - 24
Hi
Enabling/disabling port doesn't require a reboot. But you need to save the change in the GUI.
First ensure that you're running current FW. Then try another browser - the missing "Save" button suggests that might be your actual problem.

Re: Ask - Disable Enable Port on 2510G - 24
Hi
I'd suggest that you start by upgrading the switch SW so you have something produced this decade :-) If the Save button is still missing, test with another browser.

Re: Ask - Disable Enable Port on 2510G - 24
Hi
You can either upgrade it from the web GUI, or through CLI. How to upgrade switch software through CLI, see Management and Configuration Guide, Appendix A, "File Transfers".

same as any other vendor's hardware: you run a tftp or ftp server on your laptop, plug your laptop into your network, then run your copy command
