Design question regarding procurve
I am setting up the below environment and have some concerns regarding the procurve 6120xg bladesystem switch. These two blade switches do not offer vrrp or any other gateway redundancy protocols, I think they we're designed to operate at level 2 however they do supprt IP routing.
I had intended on using the two 6120's as default gateway for both blade servers and direct attached SAN, however without gateway redundancy this doesnt really work, They do offer UFD (uplink failure detection) so I assume my setup should include the two 5406zl switches as the gateway for all.
however with that setup, using the 6120's at layer 2 only, My blade servers san traffic will need to hop out of the enclosure to the core switches and then back into the enclosure, correct?
