DHCP Helper-address HP 2530 (j9779a)
Hi
We have a couple of 2530 (j9779a) that we wish to apply dhcp relaying to.
On our 2950 (J9727A)we can use the command ip helper-address x.x.x.x in the vlan configuration.
The 2530 say that is an invalid command.
Is it possible to apply DHCP helper to a 2530?
As a side note I cannot seem to be able to tell from Hp data sheets if a particular switch has the abbility to DHCP relay
Thanks

Re: DHCP Helper-address HP 2530 (j9779a)
We have seen that some L3 functions are not available on the 2530 switches out of the box (for example DHCP snooping), but you can use them after upgrading to the latest software. So try that.

Re: DHCP Helper-address HP 2530 (j9779a)
Have you issued both these commands (globally) prior to trying to configure and IP helper-address?

Re: DHCP Helper-address HP 2530 (j9779a)
I have tried both commands and they both report as been invalid and are not listed in the help menu.
Checking through our other switches i fidn that those with the YB.15.12.0006 firmware don't have the commands, but our switches with WB.15.12.*** firmwares all do have the commands.
I don't see a WB firmware for a 2530 switch. So either the switch is not capable or I have to identify a newer version of the firmware that has the required commands in it
I note that the latest firmwares for the 2530 do have DHCP snooping, but no mention of ip helper-address in the release notes.
So more investigation needed
Cheers

Re: DHCP Helper-address HP 2530 (j9779a)
We have 2530 switches, but J9772A and not J9779A like you. On our switches running YA.15.16.0005 we can configure ip helper on vlan interfaces.
