dhcp server 5412
Hi
We have just buy new 5412zl core switch, to replace old cisco 3750 stack core switch.
In cisco 3750 configuration, I have these command related to dhcp server for our barcodes, printers and ipphones:
ip dhcp pool ipphone
network 10.2.0.0 255.255.0.0
option 150 ip 10.2.1.10
default-router 10.2.1.10
ip dhcp pool barcode
network 10.3.1.0 255.255.255.0
default-router 10.3.1.254
ip dhcp pool printer
network 10.6.1.0 255.255.255.0
default-router 10.6.1.254
Cisco 3750 act as dhcp server.
The new 5412zl can act as dhcp server like old Cisco 3750???
What alternatives are there?
Andrea

Re: dhcp server 5412
Hi Andrea,
Unfortunately procurve switches don't have a DHCP service. You will need to use another server/device to issue your IPs. usually you would have your router issuing the IPs, or your domain controller.

Re: dhcp server 5412
Hello Andrea,
just a quick update regarding DHCP: you can upgrade to firmware 15.16.0004. This firmware will also include a DHCP server.
see details in the config guide: http://h20628.www2.hp.com/km-ext/kmcsdirect/emr_na-c04490719-2.pdf
Best Regards,
Michael
