Enable RSTP portfast and flow control on my HP ProCurve 2910al-48G switch

I want to enable rstp portfast and flow control on my HP ProCurve 2910al-48G switch.

How do I do that?

Hi Jahl,

The following commands should help you...

   spanning-tree <port_num> admin-edge-port

That will set your port to "portfast".

   interface <port_num> flow-control

That will enable flow control.

How will this affect the server that is using this port with iscsi disk?

Flow-Control should be enabled on iSCSI ports and it should also be set to admin-edge-port so spanning-tree won't block the port when it comes online, otherwise you will see performance degredation.

I was seeing those "annoying" log entries before configuring "admin-edge-port", like this:

Then I configured admin-edge-port, but I still see following:

Meanning that You need to replace UTP cables.

I disagree, the reason it is still showing in syslog or device log STP operational status for the respected

ports where linkfast was configured on an iterface because

the changes are not applied dynamically and one has to reload/reboot the switch IMHO.

1. Do you enable portfast on trunk port, because in Cisco I can enable but with warning
2. Can I enable portfast per vlan instead doing it perport
