Extremely high drop rate please help
Hello all
I have a 5406zl as my core switch with some 2600 and 2500 switches connected to it throughout my environment
the problem is I see to have too many Tx drops on the port connected to my router, not only that some of my switches show the same behavior on their uplink ports having to many Rx drops.
I am clueless as to what could be wrong, some switches that are connected to the core continue to drop on receive while some work fine.
On my core switch all modules contain Gigabit ports (the router port had to be hardcoded for 100-full duplex)
1.on the router port.. Could the reason be I have too much traffic going on for the 100 switchport to handle?
2.Other than drops I see no other statistics... No collisions no errs, nothing.
3.i have ruled out layer 2 loops since all switches are chained to the core and there are no redundant links
please
any help will be appreciated
Best regards
Anton

Re: Extremely high drop rate please help
I Don't know if my reply will resolve your problem but I suspect your cabling after what you have said cause if theire is only drops without any collisions and you are sure about your port Duplex status than it still only to sheck your cabling
Kind Regards
