HP 3800 Stack / Switch Meshing
Hello,
I would like to know if a stacked HP 3800 Switch (using the hardware stacking module and cables) can be configured to work in a "Mesh Domain" to use the meshing protocol.
Thank you very much.
Kind regards,
Joerg Goltermann

Re: HP 3800 Stack / Switch Meshing
I've never done it, but the 3800 manual says you can.
You'll know soon enough when you try it:
CLI: Configuring Switch Meshing
Syntax: [no] mesh [e] < port-list >
Enables or disables meshing operation on the specified ports
All meshed ports on a switch belong to the same mesh domain. Thus, to
configure multiple meshed ports on a switch, you need to:
1. Specify the ports you want to operate in the mesh domain.
2. Use write memory to save the configuration to the startup-config file.
3. Reboot the switch.
"show mesh"

Re: HP 3800 Stack / Switch Meshing
Thank you for the answer.
I plan a new network and it would be nice to know it in advance.
