HP 4208 Successor?
Good Morning
I'm Zanon Gabriele
Technical Director for Digitalwide s.r.l.
Providing solutions for Audio/Video Broadcast in Italy
In the systems i design and build, i successfully deployed, in the past, several HP 4208 modular switches.
I think this is a really good model for situations where, with low budget, you can achieve a modular, redundant switch with high reliability and port expansions.
One more great feature of this switch is the price, also provided by the fact that a full PoE Ethernet with 10Gbit is not always required, especially in small/medium realities.
My question is the following:
Is the 4208 going EoL being replaced by the 5400 (much more priced, especially the modules) ?
Or you're planning a new revision of this module to keep alive the price range between a standard switch and a modular system with an affordable price?
Thank you very much for your time
Best Regards
Zanon Gabrele
