HP Procurve 2510B Port Blinking when patch cord unplugged

Hello!

I have a problem with HP Procurve 2510B (J9019B).

It started when user call me and complain that there is no network connection.

I checked the port that user connected to and saw that it is not blinking. When I uplugged cord -

port starts to blink! Rebootiong of switch didn't solve it.

I have this problem for long time and now i have near 10 ports with this problem.

If I check log i See to many record Excessive CRS/Aligment errors at problem port.

I tried to clear port counters,disable/enable port. But when I enable port again - counters starts to refresh

with nothing connected to port.

Some time ago i asked tech suport for this case, and HP replace the switch to new one.

After that problem started on replaced switch too.

I found that it can be duplex mismatch of cord failure regarding error in log.

So first of all i need the method to reset port from this state...

Regards,

Egor

So.....your switchport that has nothing attached to it is accumulating error stats???

Are you consoled onto this switch, or telneted onto it? Is it part of a stack?

yes, you are rigth. nothing attached are couter is working. since yesterday when I clear counters at this port I have 8972 RX errors :)

I can use web concole and also telnet...

At the stacking it is "Candidate".

Hi

Based on the description I'd say there's a real failure on the port. And since it happened with two switches it seems there might be an external trigger. Please call support.
