HP Procurve IP Routing
Hi, I have create two vlans (10, 20) on the HP Procurve switch. I am able ping between these two vlans. My problem is that I am unable to ping the devices which are in the default vlan (Vlan 1). I can only ping the gateway of the default vlan from other two vlans.
Please see below my configuration.
ip default-gateway 192.168.0.20
ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.0.254
ip routing
vlan 1
name "DEFAULT_VLAN"
no untagged 1,5
untagged 2-4,6-48,A1-A2,B1-B2
ip address 192.168.0.20 255.255.255.0

vlan 10
name "USERS-DATA"

Howdy,
What IP address are the devices in VLAN 1 using as their default gateway are they still pointing at the old 192.168.0.1 address? It could easily be the hosts rather than the switch.
How do those devices know to use the switch IP address as the next hop to get to the other remote networks?
Remember that the packets need a return route to the source as well as a route to get to the destination
Try and sketch it out and step through the traffic flow one step at a time. Use ping and traceroute commands to see where your traffic is actually going. If you are feeling keen to learn - have a look at mac tables on the switches and arp tables on the hosts to get the bigger picture. Plenty of good video content / web blog content on this sort of end to end troubleshooting.
