hp sfp bidi module
i have some hp sfp modules and a few pro curve switches ... i have a need to extend this network over fiber to a small media converter ... i have a few tp-link mc220l "throw down" media converters i'm just trying to figure out if my hp sfp's will work with the non hp media converter its a temporary setup until something more permant can be installed ???
any thoughts

Hi brin831,
As a general rule (i can't speak authoritatively about those TP-Links) HP SFPs should work with non-HP media converters. It's non-HP SFPs in ProCurve switches that's often the problem (although you can buy third-party SFPs which are coded to work with ProCurves).
There was a discussion on this a while back on the AusNOG list: http://lists.ausnog.net/pipermail/ausnog/2012-October/thread.html#14919
Consensus was that switches make great media converters. :-)
