IRF Stack New Member Port Administratively down
Hi all,
Hoping i've got this in the right forum.
I've got a stack of four 5130 switches connected together and have purchased 2 more. One of them i have installed to the stack fine but the other has a problem. I have configured it the same as the last one but on the new switch itself the port attached to the irf port shows as administratly down all the time ? If i go into it and do undo shutdown it then reboots (which it should do) but then doesn't add to the stack and the port still shows as administrativly down ?
any ideas on this ?
Thanks

Re: IRF Stack New Member Port Administratively down
Hello!
Disconnect IRF physical ports cables, "undo shutdown" of the IRF port/-s in question, save the configuration, and re-connect cables again.
What is happening now is that you have used "undo shutdown" and then directly "irf-port-configuration active" before saving the configuration, so in the saved-configuration file that loads on the bootup the IRF port is still shutdown.
Hope this helps!
