Network Checkup
I just inherited a fairly large network (ProCurve) used for IP-based CCTV. I believe the equipment I have is not set-up for optimal performance. I am new to the HP life.
For instance, my remote switches talk to the big boy on 10g transceivers, but the big boy only has 1g transceivers.
Are there people at HP who can take a look at this for me? Does HP have an online system design tool?
Thanks,
Frank

Re: Network Checkup
I'm not with HP, but while this setup apparently works, you don't get your money's worth for the the 10g transceivers.
If you experience bandwith problems, you should upgrade to the max transceiver speed matches.
It could also be that the previous admin simply installed the 10g devices when he had the budget and in anticipation of an upgrade at the other end.

Re: Network Checkup
Hi Frank
Ask your local HP representive or partner, they can help you. What's your location?
HP has design tools, but only for internal usage or channel partners.
