Non working trunk on HP 2524 (J4813A) and working on a 5308XL
Hi,
I have the following setup with a HP 2524 switch in combination with a Mikrotik router:
Mikrotik >>>TRUNK ETHERNET >>> HP 2524
We use the following VLANs:
VLAN101
VLAN102
VLAN103
Mikrotik Setup:
The Mikrotik is setup on the ethernet port as a bridge with above VLANs and also the fysical port. DHCP on the bridge and the gateway also on the bridge.
HP Setup:
On the HP I have port 1 setup as the uplink to the Mikrotik with vlan101, 102 and 103 tagged. The setup on port 2 is for vlan 101 untagged, just a normal accessport.
The problem:
When I connect to the accessport on the HP switch with my laptop, I get an IP address from the DHCP server but I can't ping the DHCP server, no internet access and no communication at all.
What I have tried so far:
- Cross cable in stead of an straight cable between Mikrotik > HP; no effect
- Reset to factory default of the 2524
- Upgrading the software on the 2524
- Another laptop connected to the untagged port of the HP switch; no effect
- Setup the Mikrotik on different ways; no effect
- Tried another switch: HP 5308XL: WORKS
Exactly the same simple configuration as on the 2524, I put on the 5308XL, traffic works as it suppose to be.
What is the difference between those switches, or what am I doing wrong in this simple setup. We can't replace the 2524, this because we have 17 of this type switches and it needs to work with this type, exact as it does with the 5308XL.
Any ideas?
