POE switch configuration
Hi we've got some POE swtiches. Is there any one who can provide standard configuration with POE switch?
We've also got some problem with high latency. It can reach high around 200ms.
Another question.
I would like to ping from my nb with issuing ping procurve -l 1500 -n 100,
However, I found some of switches just can ping by size less than 505 bytes.
This is new switch, just configed with ip dns and snmp and that's all.
Any one know what is the problem and how to solve it?

Re: POE switch configuration
Hi,
Out of the box poE switches will provide you PoE without any issues. there is no basic config unless you are wanting to manage individual port power levels but these days this is dynamic, normally lldp will sort that out for you (it's enabled by default).
Regarding your high latency, where are you pinging from and to? Are you going from device to device which are both connected to the switch? or are you pinging the switch itself? If you are pinging the switch it may well show higher latency to what you woud expect (<1ms). This is by design...
hope that helps.
