Switch issue 2520-24-PoE
We had a problem on our network where someone nicked an ethernet cable that was connected to port 14 on this switch.
It caused a lot of errors, and the switch registered "excessive jabbering" and "excessive CRC/alignment" errors.
It also cause almost all devices connected to the switch to lose connectivity for a time.
We discarded the cut cable and disconnected the cable at the switch as well, however the port lights remained on and green even without a cable connected.
If I disable the port using the web interface, the lights go off for that port on the switch, but if I re-enable the lights again go on, without any cable of device connected.
Is this port toast, or can it be "reset" of something? All other ports seem to be working OK.
I am no network expert, so please dumb down any answers!
Thanks!

Re: Switch issue 2520-24-PoE
Try a reboot of the switch. If that does not fix the problem then contact HP support. Procurve switches have a lifetime warranty.
