Trunk path failover trough WAN/VPN connection
Hi. I hope someone can point me in the right direction,
I have 2 layer3 switches (5400zl) which are in different sites connected with one cable. Iam looking for some kind of trunk/bond/lacp active passive setup where the active path is the cable between the buildings and the passive path is made over a WAN connection so that if the cable fails, all traffic passes through the passive path.
Any ideas which protocol / technology to use ?

Re: Trunk path failover trough WAN/VPN connection
Hi t0mster,
It all depends on what your WAN connecton is, is it an MPLS circuit or just a DIA? If it's just DIA then you will need to setup some sort of VPN or p2p link over it and set up routing accordingly, normally this could be done from a firewall or the DIA router itself, but also, what WAN connection do you have at site 2? A little bit more info relating to the kit at your disposal would give us a better idea of what could be achieved.
HTH
