Upgrade Software

I have taken over a network with switch software that is out of date. I am familiar with Cisco switches not HP. I currenlty have

K.12.57

K.12.31 through K.13.55                  Update and reload into software
(BootROM K.12.12 - K.12.14)           version K.13.58 or K.13.68

I have seem on HP's website I need to first upgrade from an older version then go to the newer version. My question is when I access the downloads section I can only download from the versions below. How do I go about updating my switch software? Do I download the bootroms then the flash?

K.14.92 (archived General Availability)

K.13.68 (for BootROM updates only)

 K.13.49 (for BootROM updates only)

K.12.62 (for BootROM updates only)

Re: Upgrade Software

The firmware and BootROM are in a single file which takes the main version number, e.g. K_13_68.swi.

So you need to apply K.13.58 or K.13.68 as an intermediate step, and as you say K.13.68 is the one on the web.

You don't have to worry too much about the BootROM version numbers, since as long as you don't skip any required firmware intermediate releases, it should all work out fine. I'm sure you'll want to double check (at least the first time) that the BootROM got updated with the firmware though.
